The kit uses a 75.5% relative humidity standardwidely used and accepted by chemists and lab professionals to determine the accuracy of any hygrometer (also known as the salt test). Manual humidity calibrator envelope July 10, 2010 Fryer Boy (Pinellas Park, FL United States) I used this envelope to calibrate a humidity meter, which was easy.
Anyone can use this item.
BEST FOR THE MONEY July 1, 2010 Ted I have purhcased two of these and they are very accurate instruments for the price paid.
nice June 21, 2010 J. Mcghee (California) This is a nice and relatively inexpensive way to calibrate your equipment. You can put several gauges into the bag at the same time.
Good product June 8, 2010 Paul J Fricault I have used this to calibrate all my hydrometers that I have and then gave it to a friend so he could do his since it says its good for 3 months.
A convenient method to calibrate the HygroSet II May 23, 2010 Mark Cattelino (Vancouver, WA) This simple product is nothing more than a calibrated humidity packet inside a zip-lock style plastic bag. It is a simple and accurate way to calibrate the HygroSet II Adjustable Round Digital Hygrometer. You simply place the HygroSet II in the bag and seal it and wait about a 24-36 hours for the readings to stabilize before adjusting the HygroSet II calibration dial. Once initially opened, the Boveda kit can be used for up to 3 months for verfying or further adjusting the calibration. Past 3 months, you should use a new Boveda kit. For most people, probably an initial calibration is all that is ever needed. If you feel you need more frequent calibrations, consider the Boveda kit as a consumable item and you should use a new one for calibration every 6 - 12 months (probably overkill for most people). This is a nice product to ensure good accuracy with the HygroSet II. I recommend it.
