Not for a motorcycle. July 27, 2010 Tiger Mike 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I always liked the outside temperature guages in my cars so I started looking for one for my motorcycle as well. I thought a humidity guage would be nice also. I didn't want to spend alot so I came across this item and purchased it. I mounted it to my fairing around knee level. From the seat the numbers are hard to make out. I need to alter my head position in order to look at it more straight on, not a safe manuever. Also the temp varies widely depending if it's in the sunlight or not. Also this weekend I left the bike out in the rain and the thing went haywire until it dried out. It might be fine inside a car or a more sheltered spot on a bike but it doesn't work that well exposed to the elements.
Meh July 15, 2010 littleboxes112 We ended up finding out that the hygrometer only measure to 90% humidity, so its alright for the price but next time i will find a device more suitable.
Good and cheap July 7, 2010 Joseph A. Gallegos (Dallas, TX) This is a must have upgrade to a desktop humidor that comes with those cheap plastic analog hygrometers. The old one I had still read 80% under a hair dryer!
I haven't tried calibrating it, but installed it right away and it confirmed my suspicions, my humidor was bone dry. Of course you would think my cohibas looking like tree bark would have clued me in, but like most guys gotta get a new gadget to tell me the obvious!
unreliable....i don't believe it July 7, 2010 steve I tried the salt trick....i tried the kits. The numbers just seem to bounce all over the place sometimes. Sometimes I assume its right, but being that the numbers bounce around with such great variance (bounces -+40 for temp and humidity), it can't be trusted.
Not Water Proof, But Good Buy! June 21, 2010 G. Smitheman (sevierville, tn, US) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this hygrometer/thermometer to keep track of the RH in my terrarium. Worked good for about a week but do to the location of placement and constant misting of cage the units LCD blurred, and eventually the unit stopped working all together. I took the unit apart (which i don't recommend doing) and let it dry out before putting it back together, and still nothing. I recommend this product for lightly humidified cages, if your pet is shedding and misting is required look for another model.
